A day in the life of a German student
I’m a student at Realschule Aspe and I really enjoy going to this school. One of the main reasons I like it so much is that the teachers are very friendly and helpful. They always take the time to explain things clearly and support us when we need it. This creates a positive atmosphere where I feel comfortable and motivated to learn.
Another thing I appreciate is how close the school is to my home. I can easily walk home after classes, which gives me a nice break and some fresh air. In the morning I am usually taken to school by car, which makes my day start relaxed and without stress.
I wake up at 6 a.m., which is quite early, and I go to school at 7 a.m. School starts at 7:45 a.m. and finishes at 1:05 p.m. We usually get a lot of homework, for example, we have to write long texts on topics like this one. It’s fun for me, but not always, to be honest.
We have a cafeteria. It’s quite expensive, but we still buy things because we are hungry so early in the morning. My favourite subjects are PE and English. I like PE because I enjoy sports, and English because I love learning other languages.
The most important subjects for me are maths, German and English. I don’t really know how many tests we have to write, but there are many, which is normal because it’s a Realschule. It’s a school where they expect a lot from you.
All in all, Realschule Aspe is a great place to learn with kind teachers. I’m happy to be here.
